Rudolph the red nosed reindeer...

Today me and a good friend of mine, Georgie, decided to take the camera out for a bit of Christmas fun and turned her beautiful Shetland x Sally, into a reindeer!

We did have a good giggle with her walking down the road as she did turn quite a few heads, had a couple of people come out of their houses to come and say hi and we got stopped repeatedly so everyone could have a cuddle. She was extremely well behaved and didn't bat an eyelid at the bright red sheet on her back, and reindeer antlers on her head. And I think she took on the role of reindeer very well!

If anybody would be interested in having a Christmas Themed Photoshoot with their equine friends do let me know and get in touch on my facebook page. www.facebook.com/zltphotography It is honestly so much fun!

Toddler/young children Photoshoots

Coming up in the next few weeks I am looking into offering toddler/young children photo shoots.

The shoots would be laid back and fun on location (maybe a beach or park) or in your own home/garden. Really all depending on what would suit you. They would be between one and two hours long and we would speak before hand to discuss what kind of photographs you are wanting to achieve.

If you think this would be something you would be interested in please let me know and get in contact on my page

52 week project

I have been searching for a fun project to do based around pet photography. And I came across the 52 week project which is where you take a photo or series of photos every week. For example being a pet photographer if I was to choose to only take photos of dogs throughout the project I could do, play time, seniors, friends etc. Just something a bit fun and creative!

Typically the 52 week project is started in January so you start at the beginning of the year. But now the idea is in my head I cannot wait to start!!

I will be using both dogs and horses for this, mainly my own, but if anybody would like to be involved at all just give me a message and I can see what we can do! I'm looking forward to it and will no doubt learn something new and quite possibly discover a different way of taking photos throughout.

I have looked at other peoples 52 week projects and written down a weekly challenge to try.

This weeks challenge is DETAILS... So I chose to use Casey my black Lab & my parents jack russell Lola.

I went for taking a couple of photos of my dogs noses.. which trust me was a challenge! These two have their noses into everything BUT my camera lens. Who wants to keep still anyway?! After some persuasion (and possibly a little bit of bribery using treats and toys) I got the shots I wanted, Yay! The two above are my personal favourites.

Autumn

Without a doubt autumn is my favourite time of year. I love wrapping up warm, coming in from the cold and having a hot chocolate and comfort foods and just the whole cosy autumn feel in general.

Autumn is also my favourite time of year for taking photos. The colours of the autumn leaves, and the light is just absolutely gorgeous. Mix that with your adorable pet and it makes for a fantastic photo. Demonstrated rather beautifully so by (with no bias here at all...)  my gorgeous Labrador Casey!

Autumn photoshoot prices start at £40 so while it is so beautiful outside and not completely freezing cold why not book a photoshoot with me? www.facebook.com/zltphotography

My first year since starting zltphotography!

Recently it was one year since I decided to set up my zltphotography facebook page (www.facebook.com/zltphotography) after completing my diploma in photography and from persuasion from lovely friends and family.

It was the best decision I have made, and it has done my confidence the world of good. I cannot begin to describe the change I have seen in myself within the year and I am less concerned and worried about sharing my work. I have done things this last year that I never thought I would do. And thanks to the wonderful Mark Warr from *Mark Warr Images*,
I have been able to go to local showing & showjumping events/competitions taking photos for participants and have had images printed in 'Absolute Horse' and 'EQ Life' magazines.

I also braved it earlier in the year to enter a couple of categories in The Kennel clubs Dog Photographer of the year competition which is revealed later this year.

I just wanted to write a short blog in order to thank those that have supported and continue to support my photography and have helped it grow! I hope I am able to continue for as long as possible. And fingers crossed I will be continuing this blog as much as I can too!
